With the development of the TID+ project, citizens and officials are handed a tool that is based on seven years of practical experience. The main result of TID+, a project part-financed by the European Union, is a FOSS software tool that that can be used to organise citizen-driven e-participation. Dear Mr. Andrew Glencross, Thank you for the invitation to participate in the webinar on "e-Tools for active citizen participation". I am interested to participate. In this connection, I would like to bring to your notice the following: Life Line to Business (LL2B), India, has developed e-Administration e-Tool, an e-Platform for active citizen participation for e-Governance, a web based, platform neutral, paper less communication and work flow solution developed using open source tools (java, jboss, postgresql all running on Linux). The tool has the provision for self customization by any community of users or organization and can help to create the entire geographic branches, the functional departments, positions and officials for G2C / G2G / B2C communications. It helps to integrate the working of the entire vertical and horizontal hierarchy of any community or organization and introduce transparency and accountability. It can also help to create unique identity for every citizen and help track the benefits extended to citizens. Mobile phones can be integrated into the application for seamless communication. More details of the implementation of e-Administration Tool can be seen at http://ll2b.blogspot.com. The initiative was recognized with the Manthan Award 2006 for creating India's Best e-Content for 'e-Inclusion and Livelihood' creation. This initiative was nominated from India for the World Summit Award 2007. The tool could be of interest to any community / Government / organization, to introduce e-Governance for transparency and accountability.
