CoP Features - What do you want to see here? From: Ella Taylor-Smith Date: 2007 Mar 09 09:35 UTC Short link
Hi,
I'd like us to be able to personalise the time on the website - so that
we can see comments marked with 'our' local date and time. It's very
confusing the way it is!

In Fraser Henderson's introduction (welcome Fraser ... he really cleared the way for our use of GroupServer for Democracies Online Groups when we launched the webcasting community of practice for ICELE's predecessor) he mentioned trouble with the search box. I searched for "Fraser" and found a number of results (it looks like you need to be logged into search), however I suspect there are a handful of issues that need to be tweaked on this site. What do folks think of a donations drive to support fine-tuning this site and to add some features you think would further benefit this community of practice? At a minimum, I do know that we need to: 1. Fix the change e-mail settings option. 2. Run a script which cleans up the first name in the To: field of web-posted comments. At E-Democracy.Org we are in the middle of a huge transition to the latest version of GroupServer (the .9+ version hosted at OnlineGroups.Net). The most exciting feature for DoWire Groups is allowing attachments to be sent via e-mail (files, photos, audio, etc.) that are automatically stripped and placed in the file area with a link sent to the group. Here is an example: http://forums.e-democracy.org/r/topic/153792 If DoWire participants can chip in to some new features (we could use Pledgebank or Fundable.Org) we could further strengthen our groups. My main feature upgrade idea - improve the "Who's Who" member directory list. I'd like to see four or five sortable columns of information in the index: Name Title Organisation City Country So at http://groups.dowire.org/groups/consult/members you could sort the listing by clicking on the various column titles to quickly sort and see who is from your country for example. Our 190 names don't tell us much about who is gathered. What ideas do you have? Cheers, Steven Clift http://e-democracy.org http://dowire.org ^ ^ ^ ^ Steven L.
