I'd love to get more participation in this comment thread! If you have ideas, please share! So what exactly is newspaper web ‘premium’ content? Please tell me http://steveouting.com/2009/11/05/so-what-exactly-is-newspaper-web-premium-content-please-tell-me/
Possibilities include access to a quality search tool for comprehensive archives of the newspaper over a long period of time. The newspaper could provide access to databases of news and magazine sources such as the database Access World News or Lexis Nexis Academic. Also databases of reference tools that provide answers to questions or background information, perhaps coupled with live fee based assitance in finding information. Some of the databases in the list below might be appropriate: Selected General Interest Databases for Temple Users [Second Box in Center Column] General Internet & Print Resources <http://guides.temple.edu/general-internet> Selected General Interest Databases for Temple Users ABI/INFORM Complete Academic Search Premier Access World News Article First BookSource: Nonfiction Criminal Justice Abstracts Gale Ready Reference Shelf Gale Virtual Reference Library GenderWatch Global Books in Print GPO Monthly Catalog LexisNexis Academic LexisNexis Statistical MasterFile Premier NetLibrary NetLibrary Reference Center Oxford Reference Online Periodicals Archive Online Periodicals Index Online Poole's Index to Periodical Literature, 1802-1907 Proquest Dissertations & Theses Reference Universe Web of Science Wilson OmniFile World News Connection WorldCat . Also this list for Reference <http://library.temple.edu/articles/dbfinder/index.jsp?subjects=55&bhcp=1> and this list of Newspaper Databases: <http://library.temple.edu/articles/dbfinder/index.jsp?subjects=48&bhcp=1> Newspapers could also provide members of their fee based services with workshops on techniques for finding information, doing research and using the databases effectively and this also would be a fee based service. The workshops could be both classroom in person events and also online courses or sessions that are conducted over the internet.
