Hi Folks, In January, AS President Carolyn Lukensmeyer and I wrote a report called `Public Deliberation: A Manager's Guide to Citizen Engagement`_which was intended to be sort of a practical guide to improving the practice of public participation within federal agencies -- improving practice through face-to-face and online methods as well as administrative policy. Anyway, the IBM Center for the Business of Government was the sponsor/ publisher of the report, and has been distributing the document online and in hardcopy form. I got word on Friday that to date, there have been 49,709 downloads of the report -- their most popular for 2006. Cool! So here is my request: **Please help me tip this number past 50,000 for 2006 so we can help set a record for IBM.** Pass along the following link to anyone you know involved in public administration and civic engagement work and who you think should read this kind of thing. Are you aware of how small the fonts appear on your site? I can't even see
to fill in the publication page. hmmmm...wonder why that occurs?
So while I was able to download your awesome report, I could not sign up on
the pubs. page.

Wow. Very interesting; it views beautifully in Firefox and Opera but I can
barely see the fonts in IE 7, which I regret downloading and installing and
now find one cannot uninstall!
If you hear of how to go back to IE 6 let me know!

Why not stick with Firefox? I only keep IE 6 on my system for those
very rare sites that Firefox won't display correctly, or for testing
purposes as I'm a web developer.

I have tried to stay with Firefox but I do find that Firefox often won't
display correctly. Maybe I have something set wrong but even Amazon graphics
don't show. Do you think I have some security settings too high?
I would still like to get IE 7 OFF my computer! I think it is 7 and 6 really
wasn't too bad but I could have the numbers of the versions wrong.

I concur with the recommendation to use Firefox but other browsers do
support font-scaling. Try looking for a 'text-size' setting on a 'view'
menu or holding control while rolling the mouse wheel (or trackpad
equivalent). The latter is my myopia-beating favourite.
As far as I know, GroupServer does not truncate urls, but some popular
email clients do.
But this isn't about Citizen Engagement.
