Hi folks, In an effort to make it easier to collect and share leading online consultation platforms and experiences, I've uploaded the matrix we produce to zoho. Please take a look and update the information! You can login at: http://writer.zoho.com/ The uname is econsultation and the pword is the same. To find the matrix, select the "My Documents" folder and then select the document titled, "online_delib_matrix." Many thanks!

Please take a look and update the information! I took a look at the document. After reverting to an earlier version (someone had had an editing accident), I realised that the examples show characteristics of particular software (or non-IT approaches to consultation). If that could be extended, in, e.g. a database, it would become a useful resource. I like it. But once we get a few hundred examples of products and approaches in there, how does a practitioner find the right ones? One attempt I have been making is to produce a classification of e-consultation technologies. My attempt is at http://www.e-consultation.org/guide/index.php/Technology_classification This is one of the few fairly complete parts of the on-line guide to e-consultation we are writing. I've got rudimentary decision trees to help select technologies based on the type of knowledge the consultation is meant to produce (think of consultations as organizational learning, where the citizens are the masters and the policy makers are the apprentices). There is also a communications dimension - what modes will engage particular types of participant - that I have yet to include. If people want to edit this, contact me. Or perhaps a group could get together to produce an expert system for selecting e-consultation technologies.
