DoWire.Org - Democracies Online Groups - Online Communities of Practice and E-mail Updates

DoWire Groups promotes international exchange on e-democracy and online news. It is the online place for those building information-age democracy, transparency, participation, governance, media, and active citizenship in the 21st Century in every country around the world. DoWire.Org "simply" works. Join us.

The four main groups are:

  • Newswire - Low volume "e-democracy" announcements carefully selected by Steven Clift with over 2,000 members across 100 countries since 1998
  • Exchange - Dynamic exchange of knowledge and experience among e-democracy practitioners and experts around the world - the main two-way space tied to #edem exchange on Twitter
  • Research - A focused exchange among e-democracy researchers with over 400 members
  • News-Online - A special forum for professionals in online news and journalism with over 300 members
  • All Groups - Other niche open and proposed sub-groups are available, but less active

Each online group is an integrated e-mail list that functions as a basic web forum/social network/multi-editor blog with video and file sharing and more. You may choose e-mail (default setting), e-mail digest, web-only, web feed, or Twitter to keep connected.
